I believe that art is a way to celebrate and bring forth the beauty of the world. I start by making a mark on the page with paint, charcoal, or pastel, and then see where the painting calls for the next mark to be made. Gradually, forms start to take shape, and one surprise leads to another.

It is mostly improvisation on paper, and in a world where life can seem overly directed to goals and to do lists, I cherish the ability to become a partner with creative forces I do not fully understand.
